How much food and transport cost in the Philippines
€20 dinners with wine, a tricycle all day for €20-30, scooters at €6 and reference prices for island-hopping tours and the El Nido-Coron ferry.
Food in the Philippines worked out cheaper than in Bali for me, mostly because it's less crowded. This is what eating and getting around cost me, plus reference prices for what I don't remember exactly.
Eating: cheaper than Bali
In El Nido and Coron food was cheaper than in Bali. At the "fancier" places we had dinner for about €20 with wine and everything, and the local spots were incredible. Siargao was cheaper still than the other destinations, because it's more of a little island.

Getting around: tricycles, scooters and boats
- Tricycles or tuk tuks: cheap. In Siargao we hired one for the whole day and a local drove us along whatever route we wanted for about €20-30.
- Scooters: also cheap, about €6 a day to rent.
What I don't remember: tours and ferry (reference prices)
I don't remember what I paid for the tours or the ferry, so these are reference prices from travel sources, worth checking before you book:
- El Nido island hopping (tours A, B, C and D): about ₱1,200-1,800 per person, depending on the tour and the source. On top of that comes the environmental fee (₱200 to 400) and extras like the lagoon entrance (₱200) or kayaks (₱300-400).
- El Nido-Coron ferry: roughly ₱1,700-1,800, with a booking platform showing around USD 35-49 depending on operator and date. Trips are sometimes delayed, so leave a margin.
At an approximate rate of about ₱65 per euro, an island-hopping tour comes to about €20-30 plus fees.
