Where to stay in El Nido and Coron, Philippines
Social hostels or quiet resorts: where to stay in El Nido and Coron, with real places and what actually matters when choosing.
El Nido and Coron are the two island stops of the trip, and the same thing happens in both: everything is close to the center, so choosing where to stay is mostly deciding what atmosphere you want.
El Nido: social atmosphere or calm?
The decision is simple. If you prefer a social atmosphere, a hostel; if you prefer something calmer, a resort. In both cases everything is a short distance from the center.

Low cost
- Spin Hostel: a young, social atmosphere.
- Frendz Hostel: very highly rated, a good meeting point with other travelers.
Mid range or luxury
- Cadlao Resort: quiet, with good value for money.
- Bahura Resort: comfortable and well located for getting around the town.
Coron: prioritize comfort
Coron is the base for the best island hopping in the Philippines. Any area of town is close to the harbor, so there's no need to obsess over the exact location: prioritize comfort.
Low cost
- Coron Backpackers: simple, affordable and with a good atmosphere.
- Hop Hostel: a social option, ideal for meeting people.
Mid range or luxury
- Two Seasons: comfortable and with good services.
- Zuri Resort: one of the most complete options on the island.
Prices change a lot by season. If you travel in high season, book your lodging early, and the ferry between the two as well.
Our recommendation
In El Nido, decide first whether you want atmosphere or rest. In Coron, stay wherever you're comfortable, because the harbor is close anyway. You'll find the route in our 14-day Philippines itinerary, what to see in what to see in El Nido and how the crossing works in El Nido to Coron by ferry.
