Where to eat in the Philippines: our favorite spots
Restaurants we recommend in Manila, El Nido, Coron and Siargao, from traditional Filipino cooking to pizza, seafood and grill.
In the Philippines the best place is often the simplest one, the one by the sea or the one you find without planning. Even so, these are the restaurants we recommend from our route.
Manila
- Manam Comfort Filipino and Locavore: Filipino dishes adapted to every taste.
- Barbara's Heritage: traditional Filipino cooking.
- Ilustrado: a very good place if you want something special without spending too much.
- Firefly Roofdeck Restaurant: spectacular views of the city.
- Wildflour Café and Cafe Adriatico: international food and a Filipino menu; Cafe Adriatico is open 24 hours.
El Nido
- Art Café: a classic, with a good atmosphere.
- AP KALA beach bar & modern cafe: carefully made food by the sea.
- SAVA: one of the places with the most energy at night.
- Big Bad Thai: very well recommended Thai food. Happiness: relaxed atmosphere, ideal for quiet dinners.
- Local BBQ: simple, authentic grill, near Nacpan Beach.

Coron
- Lobster King: fresh seafood, one of the island's favorites.
- Altrove Coron: pizza and pasta, very popular with travelers.
- KT's Sinugba and Santino's Grill: grill and traditional dishes, and grilled meat.
- Lolo Nonoy's Food Station: very affordable Filipino food.
A tip: combine a local restaurant, like Santino's or Lolo Nonoy's, with a more international one, like Altrove, for a complete experience.
Siargao (General Luna)
- Bravo: carefully made food with a Mediterranean touch, ideal for a special dinner.
- Kermit Siargao: iconic on the island, always with a good atmosphere.
- Harana: healthy options in a very pleasant setting.
- Shaka: a classic among surfers, simple and fresh food.
- Mama's Grill and Kawayan: local, affordable and authentic, and a good balance of local food and a calm atmosphere.
Many places in El Nido, Coron and Siargao don't take cards or have no ATMs nearby. Carry cash.
Our recommendation
For a special dinner, Bravo in Siargao. For seafood, Lobster King in Coron. To spend little, Lolo Nonoy's or Mama's Grill. You'll find it all organized by day in our 14-day Philippines itinerary, and the experiences in best things to do in the Philippines.
